The list of groups is user defined in School Setup. You can identify which groups the student belongs to and later be able to view these students in their groups. One application this can be useful for is in the Attendance module. If the Senior Girls Volleyball team leave early on Friday, it will be easy to bring this group up in Attendance and quickly give them the same attendance code, rather than having to search through the database for each student.

The information in Mac School is relational when it comes to reporting. For example, in using the Report Manager you can generate a report using the information entered in Student Details that will list the Students:
on the Academic Program,
who have an Ethnic Category of Spanish,
whose Medical Alert states they are allergic to penicillin and
who have scored more than 1000 on their S.A.T.
These fields used in the report are defined by the user, therefore you can see that there are endless possibilities when it comes to reporting.
